    The Job

    The Project & Facilities Management Department is recruiting for a CIP Fiscal/Budget Analyst* who perform a variety of analytical duties in support of County capital improvement projects. This position will provide fiscal and budget support to project managers, including monitoring and managing contracts and subcontracts, consultant services, processing contract payments, and preparing invoices; providing project managers with ad-hoc reports and analysis; acting as an audit liaison; monitoring CIP project budgets and forecasting expenditures and revenues; perform project costing and service fee calculations and audit labor billing.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background check which includes fingerprints, medical exam, and review of employment history.

    Promotion: Trainees must demonstrate successful work performance to qualify for promotion to Staff Analyst I ($29.39 - $40.38 hourly salary) within twelve (12) months or be terminated.

    Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. Employees will be required to make provisions for transportation and may be required to use personal vehicles (mileage reimbursement is available). At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation.

    Minimum Requirements

    EXPERIENCE

    OPTION 1: Eighteen (18) months of full-time equivalent experience providing fiscal/budgetary support to CIP projects, facilities and capital improvement planning, and leasing acquisitions.

    -OR-

    OPTION 2: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience supporting professional-level staff in any of the following areas: budget/fiscal analysis, accounting, requests for proposal (RFP), contracts or grants management analysis, or facilities and capital improvement planning.

    EDUCATION

    A completed associate's degree in public/business administration, behavioral/social science, accounting/finance or other relevant field of study.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess strong research and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and possess experience performing complex administrative analysis duties in a public sector environment.
