    About our opportunity

    We are excited to announce that applications are being accepted for our full-time (40 hours weekly), non-exempt Real Property Services Assistant with the Assessor's Office.

    Projected Salary Range/Pay Grade 108: $17.62 - $21.14 per hour. Salary is determined based on qualifications.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Answers telephone providing accurate information to callers and/or forwards to appropriate personnel, screening calls, taking messages as necessary.
    • Greets and assists office visitors providing information on property assessments and assisting with special assessment applications, and address change forms as needed.
    • Receives and distributes mail (written and electronic) to appropriate personnel or other County departments; following up as needed.
    • Enters and retrieves computer data and information; maintaining real property database as assigned.
    • Assists with the processing special assessment applications for legal residence and agricultural use.
    • Scans all applications once processed; indexing for future research. Then files and/or copies documents as needed.
    • Maintains inventory of office supplies, participating in the reorder process.
    • Keeps up to date with assessment rates according to classification and millage rates in order to assist public.
    • Attends meeting and workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.
    • At the direction of the Deputy Assessor, processes refunds for overpayment due to special assessment approval and removes special assessments that no longer meet eligibility.
    • Performs related work as assigned.


    About you

    Education and Experience:
    • Associate’s Degree.
    • Experience is desired but not required.

    Applicants with equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
