Nevada Gaming Control Board
The mission of the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) is to protect the integrity and stability of Nevada's gaming
industry through strict regulation of all associated persons and activities, ensuring the proper collection of taxes and fees, and
promoting public confidence in the industry. It accomplishes this by enforcing laws and regulations, conducting investigations
and licensing, and holding licensees to high standards to ensure gaming is conducted honestly and competitively.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board is the premier gaming regulator recognized for effectiveness in
ensuring gaming in Nevada is conducted honestly, competitively, and free from corrupt elements.
The Administration Division provides financial, personnel and
other administrative services to fulfill the missions of the
Board and Commission and to support the operating divisions. The Nevada Gaming Control Board is
comprised of six internal divisions
which include Administration, Audit,
Enforcement, Investigations, Tax &
License, Technology and the Gaming
Lab. The Senior Policy Counsel

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (Board) is seeking a diverse
pool of qualified candidates for the position of Senior Policy
Counsel. This is an unclassified, full-time position located in
Carson City, Las Vegas or Reno, Nevada.
Under the direction of the Administration Division Deputy Chief, the Senior
Policy Counsel will perform statutory and regulatory duties for the Board and
Commission, assist Board members and divisions on gaming and other
relevant matters, and support legislative duties during the legislative session
and interim. This position will also serve as a secondary hearing examiner for
patron disputes and gaming employee registration appeals, assist in
Board/Commission operations, and act as Executive Secretary at meetings if
needed. The role includes preparing reports and correspondence on gaming
and other issues, becoming a Certified Contracts Manager to draft/review
contracts for Attorney General review, and making independent decisions
with sound judgment and limited guidance.
A bachelor's degree in public administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a
related field from an accredited college or university is required, along with at
least four years of progressively responsible professional experience in business,
accounting, or fiscal management. An equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered, with each substitutable on a year-for-year basis.
