POSITION EXPECTATIONS:The Lead Service Worker plays a key role in supporting Supervisors and Managers by helping to plan, delegate, and oversee the work of Service Worker teams. This position is responsible for executing facility services specifications for meeting and convention space setups, ensuring all arrangements meet high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service. The Lead Service Worker serves as a central point of communication, providing regular updates to supervisors on task progress and team performance to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Lead assigned team(s) in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of both interior and exterior areas, including meeting rooms, exhibit halls, lobbies, elevators, escalators, public and emergency stairwells, service corridors, entrances, miscellaneous rooms, break rooms, plaza areas, driveways, parking lots, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, landscaped areas, and seating zones. Submits work orders via phone or radio as needed, reports any damage to Facility Services property or equipment to a supervisor.
- Coordinates event requirements with the Facility Services Supervisor at the beginning of each shift. Accurately interprets show specifications, booking orders, and work orders to ensure facility spaces are set according to client expectations. Clearly and concisely communicates task priorities to Ambassadors, including setup, teardown, and the removal or installation of storage units, tables, chairs, air walls, staging, and bleacher equipment Provides updates on setup status and shift “pass-down” information to the supervisor or manager throughout the workday regarding completed tasks or any issues that arise during the setup process.
- Performs detailed cleaning of both interior and exterior facility areas using appropriate tools and equipment (e.g., boom or scissor lifts for window washing, truck-mounted or portable extractors for carpet and upholstery cleaning). Cleans a variety of exterior surfaces using pressure washers, ride-on scrubbers, hand blowers, and other departmental equipment. Maintains cleanliness of interior surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, hardware, air vents, walls, floors, and specialized equipment. Properly disposes of waste from all interior and exterior receptacles and power washes compactor bays as assigned.
- Provides field training to Ambassadors on proper equipment usage and techniques to enhance performance on specific tasks.
- In the absence of a Service Support Technician, oversees the proper checkout and return of tools and equipment from the warehouse. Ensures all items are returned in good condition and promptly reports any mechanical issues to supervisors or Service Support Technicians.
- Operates all Facility Services equipment safely and efficiently, including light-, medium-, and heavy-duty motor vehicles, utility vehicles, ride-on scrubbers and sweepers, floor machines, pressure washers (portable and stationary), carpet extractors, and other specialized cleaning machinery. Secures and transports equipment using a fifth-wheel trailer when necessary. Report any unsafe operation or misuse of company equipment or vehicles to the supervisor.
- Consistently maintains a professional demeanor when interacting with other departments, event attendees, and building partners.
- May be assigned duties at a lower classification level when needed to support customer, vendor, or event requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS:- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of full-time convention setup experience or two years of experience as a Service Worker with the LVCVA.
- Proven ability to accurately interpret floor plans and setup requirements.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with all Facility Services equipment.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization and with external vendors.
- Must be able to read and interpret written instructions, including work orders, room setup specifications, and safety guidelines for equipment and chemical usage.
- Competency in basic math, including the ability to calculate required amounts of materials and equipment.
- Understanding of mathematical concepts such as ratios, proportions, and basic probability, and the ability to apply them in practical work situations.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:- Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license at the time of appointment and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.
- Must be able to obtain OSHA compliance certification to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and other departmental vehicles within 60 days of starting employment. Training will be provided in both classroom and hands-on settings.
- Must successfully complete all assigned training courses as determined necessary by management.

Executives and managers are expected to ensure safe work and a safe working environment through guidance and leadership for Ambassadors and contractors to include assessing and eliminating workplace hazards. Further expectations include ensuring compliance with and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of established rules, policies, procedures and regulations. Management is also expected to provide tools necessary for achieving safety to include time and budget.

The individual in this position must be able to possess the physical mobility to perform all related duties, including using desktop computers and operating both hand tools and power equipment. The role requires the stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, the strength to occasionally lift or maneuver up to 100 pounds, frequently up to 75 pounds, and regularly up to 25 pounds. The individual must also have the dexterity to reach, kneel, crouch, and climb, along with the visual ability to read printed materials and the communication skills to interact effectively in person, over the phone, or via two-way radio.
The position also requires the physical capability to transport supplies and equipment to designated areas. The individual must be able to perform tasks in crowded environments and safely operate various types of equipment, including electric carts, ride-on sweepers/scrubbers, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, aerial lifts, carpet extractors, handheld blowers, pressure washers, and floor care machines.
While performing the essential functions of this job, the Ambassador may be exposed to varying climate conditions and required to work at heights or in other potentially precarious environments.
