    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Airport Project Planner/Scheduler position. This position p erforms asset management, project planning, and work assessment, including assigning and scheduling installation, maintenance, repair and construction projects for multiple cross-functional work teams at a variety of airport facilities.

    This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Employee Services .

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience:

    Equivalent to two (2) years of college level education in Building/Facility Management, Business Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, and four (4) years increasingly responsible experience in a maintenance trade, preferably in a large facility. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

    Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application.

    Working Conditions: Work evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts. Work extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations. May work outdoors in all weather conditions. May work in construction environments involving dust, noise, and fumes.

    Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Class C Nevada Driver's License at time of appointment.

    Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

    Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

    Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

    Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. Note: all prospective hires must present two original government issued ID's upon acceptance of job offer. Examples of acceptable ID's include a Passport, Driver's License or DMV issued ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, Voter Registration card, school issued ID with picture, etc.

    Customs and Border Protection Security Seal Program: Employment with the Department of Aviation in this job title is contingent upon a ten year employment and five year residency history record check and the ability to present original identity based documentation in order to meet the requirements for a Security Seal.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Mobility to work in a typical plant or related industrial setting, including operating typical trade equipment, hand and power tools and standard office equipment, and to drive a motor vehicle to various work sites; stamina to stand, walk and climb and to work in confined or awkward spaces for an extended period of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over a radio or telephone. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

    • Acts as the first point of contact for internal and external customers seeking support from the Facilities work group; independently manages life cycle of multiple projects.
    • Plans maintenance work orders by creating and maintaining job plan libraries.
    • Visits job sites and investigates work for feasibility and efficient labor utilization; determines the scope of the work to be undertaken.
    • Schedules maintenance and project work for the organization.
    • Confers with requestor for clarification of job requirements.
    • Prepares detailed estimates including labor, materials, repair parts, special tools, and equipment needed.
    • Recommends equipment, facility, and process improvements and cost reductions.
    • Evaluates and priorities job plans according to urgency, material requirements, equipment and staff availability, operational needs, and documentation requirements.
    • Prepares job plans and coordinates the use of skilled and unskilled staff.
    • Coordinates job plans with other Facilities Planners; initiates interventions to solve work planning problems.
    • Inspects work areas; conducts job hazard analysis of employee tasks.
    • Assists in identifying and resolving facility compliance issues related to OSHA, ADA, building and fire code and ordinances.
    • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to develop and track job plans, safety plans, job hazard and confined space plans, and equipment hierarchies; creates daily weekly, and monthly work plan for all maintenance trades.
    • Establishes standards for repetitive jobs such as preventative and predictive maintenance and adjusts scheduling frequencies to optimize effectiveness; ensures jobs are planned, assigned, scheduled, performed, and tracked.
    • Determines material and equipment needed and availability in stores; prepares stores requisitions and allocates material to work orders.
    • Monitors supplies used during regular maintenance so that inventory can be replenished.
    • Manage outside contractors in support of other business units, including maintaining records and contracts.
    • Reports progress and project status verbally and in writing; attends meetings as required.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of work done; presents records as needed for compliance audits.
    • Prepare internal bill-backs and documents for events supported by the organization.
    • Keeps records such as equipment maintenance histories, duration, duration, and cost.
    • Liaisons with other work units to obtain drawings of work plan options, supplies needed, etc.
    • Facilitates communication and job tasks among other business units.
    • Drives a motor vehicle in order to inspect work sites and responds to emergency situations.
