    Full-time Temporary Faculty in School of Nursing - Coordinator of Simulation

    Position Summary
    • The department is seeking a qualified candidate to provide leadership, management, and coordination of simulation-based education within the School of Nursing (SON). The coordinator works under the supervision of the department chair and in collaboration with faculty to lead the integration, evaluation, and innovation of simulation across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral curricula to enhance student competency, support faculty development, and advance scholarly contributions to the field.

      The position plays a pivotal role in positioning the SON for national recognition, including progression toward Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) accreditation, while cultivating a sustainable and collaborative simulation culture across the SON

    Coordinator Responsibilities
    • Provide strategic leadership and coordination of simulation-based learning experiences across all SON programs, including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and specialty tracks.
    • Serve as the faculty lead and expert resource in simulation pedagogy, ensuring simulation design and delivery align with national standards and evidence-based best practices.
    • Collaborate with course faculty to design, implement, and evaluate high-quality simulation experiences (low, medium, and high fidelity) that support course objectives and student competency development.
    • Chair the SON Simulation Committee, reporting key updates and outcomes at school-wide faculty meetings.
    • Facilitate the training, mentoring, and competency validation of faculty to expand simulation facilitation capacity across the SON.
    • Partner with faculty to initiate and support research, scholarship, and quality improvement projects related to simulation-based education.
    • Work with the SON chair to develop and manage simulation-related budgets, resources, and strategic planning initiatives.
    • Serve as a liaison to other CSU campus simulation programs and participate in university-wide and system-wide simulation committees and initiatives.
    • Represent Fresno State and the SON in regional and national simulation networks and organizations to promote the visibility and excellence of simulation activities.
    • Support continuous quality improvement and readiness for simulation accreditation through documentation, program assessment, and outcomes tracking.

    Conditional Appointment

    Please be advised that an appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and California Faculty Association. These provisions state the “Order of Work,” or the order in which available courses must be assigned to faculty, starting with tenure-line faculty and ending with new lecturer appointees.

    Appointees will be required to demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States (Fresno State is not a sponsoring agency for Temporary Faculty positions).

    Compensation -

    Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience within the appropriate salary range. The salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code = 2359). Beginning salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. Actual monthly salary will be adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per an academic term.

    The salary range for the Simulation Coordinator:
    • Lecturer A-12-mo: with a Master's Degree is $6,288 - $6,825 a month with full-time (15-WTUs).
    • Lecturer B-12-mo: with Terminal Degree is $7,127 -$8,593 a month with full-time (15-WTUs)

    Anticipated Semester

    This is a full-time, temporary 12-month position, as a Lecturer in School of Nursing starting January 5, 2026 - August 31, 2026. Upon successful completion of evaluation during this period, this temporary faculty position may extend to include the entire Academic Year 2026-2027.

    Required Qualifications:

    Education (from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.):
    • Current California Registered Nurse License
    • Master of Science in nursing or related fields.
    • National certification (i.e. Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator) expected within three years after hire.

    Experience:
    Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.
    Demonstrated experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating simulation activities, curriculum, and/or programs.
    Experience leading or contributing to faculty development, research, and/or accreditation initiatives related to simulation.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Doctoral degree in nursing or related field. Management experience in an educational setting.
