The Department of Health Services (DHS) is looking for a Facilities Team Lead to join their team! As our next Facilities Team Lead, you will be the lead for planning, organizing, and tracking material ordering, receipt, and distribution procedures. While working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will supervise and assign work to the Storekeepers on the team, assisting and filling in when necessary. In addition, you will:
- Regularly review the Facilities calendar to plan, organize, and assign or escalate Facilities requests
- Create work plans for Storekeepers, tracking requests to ensure they are moved forward
- Ensure Facilities requests are tracked and processed by Storekeepers
- Field request-related questions from DHS staff and serve as the Subject Matter Expert on related processes
- Move equipment from one location to another, setting up and/or installing equipment when necessary
- Delivery of mail and materials, including cash, checks, and other sensitive materials
- Implement and track projects necessary to the workflow of the team
- Collaborate with DHS Safety on routine and critical items
As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have an understanding of how to support and motivate a service-oriented team and possess logistics/management experience with facilities, maintenance, construction, inventory, or warehousing. In addition, you will possess many of the following:
- Process management experience, ideally with project tracking, work planning, and leading others in tasks
- The ability to use hand tools for assembly and reconfiguration of furniture
- An understanding of how to safely lift and move heavy objects and ensure your team follows your lead
- Knowledge of ergonomic equipment or equipment adjustments
- Experience with scheduling or dispatching
- Experience in vendor management or cost analysis to procure services, equipment, and inventory
- The ability to convey instructions simply and accurately
- Experience in customer service and the ability to teach your team how to interact with clients
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow through and complete projects
- A vested interest in creating a positive work environment for you and your team
Please Note: This position will have a general schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm each day. This position will fulfill duties that are physical in nature, including assembling furniture, often requiring you to bend, reach, pick up, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds. Ability to: organize and maintain a departmental storekeeping function; establish and maintain adequate inventory controls and record keeping systems manually and on computers; accurately and neatly complete forms and records; spot discrepancies between items received and purchase order, packing slip or property record form; perform routine arithmetic calculations; deal courteously with individuals contacted in the course of work; operate a light vehicle; operate a fork lift and a floor jack may be required for some assignments; perform tasks which require physical strength and agility; lift and carry 50 pounds for short distances; read, write and speak English at the level required by the duties.
