  • Summary

    The Communications & Marketing Coordinator works under the Director of Administration to manage marketing programs and initiatives, monitor communication strategies, create educational video and graphic content, develop informational initiatives, and maintain the city website with current information. The Coordinator uses interpersonal, computer, communication, marketing, and personable skills to leverage marketing techniques, plan and organize city events and promotional material, and interact with citizens.

  • Job Description

    • Develops strategic content to engage, promote, inform, and educate the public through positive messaging on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media platforms
    • Maintains and implements media policies for the city which reflect current trends and laws
    • Builds quality, eye-catching graphic and image content through creative storytelling
    • Produces, films, writes, and edits all aspects of videos and animations to educate and promote a safe and friendly environment
    • Maintains city website through CivicPlus on an as-needed basis with current news, agendas, personnel, documentation, and trends
    • Assists city council meetings with sound system, live streaming on social media, and updating website
    • Develops, edits, and crafts press releases, emails, and various communication materials for internal and external purposes
    • Coordinates and markets city-wide events and community programs aimed at generating a positive impact and enriches the lives of community members and visitors
    • Builds relationships with vendors and external organizations to successfully plan, communicate, and facilitate events and programs
    • Plans, prepares, and manages the budget for events and programs; records and tracks all revenues and expenditures of funds within approved budget
    • Represents the City of Crandall at internal and partnered community events by setting up informational or promotional onsite booths, dispersing promotional and educational materials, and engaging with attendees to encourage and foster positive communication
    • Seeks and advises on partnership opportunities with community organizations, businesses, Chamber of Commerce, governmental agencies, neighborhood associations, school district, media outlets, and other service agencies
    • Participates in other duties, as assigned
  • Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Public Relations, Media Arts, Journalism, or related field.
    • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite
    • Knowledge of multiple software applications and operating systems, including but not limited to: Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Vecteezy and Canva.
    • Two years or more of professional related experience in the customer service field
    • CivicPlus or a similar web design platform preferred
    • Graphic design and content creation and management
    • Video production or management
    • Hours may vary and will require occasional work on evenings and weekends.
    • Attendance of all City of Crandall sponsored and partnered community events is required.
    • Class C Texas Driver’s License.
    • Additional licenses and certifications may be required
