THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY OFFICE The
El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to serving the community by objectively investigating and prosecuting matters under the law to attain justice. Protecting people’s rights and diminishing victim’s trauma while holding criminals accountable, are part of the daily regular operations. The District Attorney’s Office also collaborates with other departments and agencies and supports programs that focus on reducing crime.
THE OPPORTUNITY The County of El Dorado is seeking graduates for the District Attorney's office. The duties performed by this classification will vary depending on the nature of the assignment and will be defined in the duty statement for the specific assistant's assignment.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to: - Research, investigate, and conduct special studies or projects in support of the assigned department.
- Interview, collaborate and consult with County employees, officials, and interested persons or groups on matters related to work assignments.
- Collect and/or analyze information and data.
- Develop presentations and charts detailing analysis of information and data.
- Prepare, review, and monitor department files, and a assignment related documents.
- Assist in a wide variety of administrative or professional duties of the assigned department.

Where college degrees and/or college course credits are required, degrees and college units must be obtained from an accredited college or university. Courses from non-accredited institutions will not be evaluated for this requirement.
Current eligibility to take the California State Bar Examination. Students in their final year of law school may apply but may not fill the position until they are eligible to take the State Bar Examination.
This is an extra help/temporary position that does not include benefits.
