    This position is within the Position Eligibility/Maintenance/Classification Unit.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    Review employment applications to determine if the candidate meets the eligibility requirements of the desired position by reviewing the employment history, and/or education (if applicable).

    Respond to applicant inquiries via email and phone.

    Assist other personnel staff, both within Central Office, and at the worksites, with any questions they may have regarding applications/applicants, employment verifications, job postings, or in relation to the online application system.

    Complete employment verification requests for all Department of Corrections employees.

    Post vacancy requests to the MoCareers Job Opportunities page within the online system.

    Performs other related work as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    One or more years as an Administrative Support Assistant (SOSA) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR

    Four or more years of office experience, and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency

    (Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the general experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year)

    All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed.

    Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:

    • A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
    • A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
    • A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.


    The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
