https://www.solanocounty.gov THE POSITION Under general supervision, an Accounting Clerk II, performs financial clerical, bookkeeping and statistical reporting tasks, as well as processes financial records/transactions of moderate complexity; applies arithmetic skills and understanding of record keeping systems and related transactions.
This class is the journey level in the Accounting series and is characterized by the responsibility to perform bookkeeping and statistical record-keeping tasks. Positions in this class deal with relationships that involve several concrete variables in standardized situations and regularly make decisions that may affect the quality, accuracy or utility of results. Work is generally standardized, but requires the application of various established rules and procedures.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year of full-time work experience as an Accounting Clerk I or equivalent.
OR
Six (6) months full time work experience as an Accounting Clerk I or equivalent AND 6 semester units or 9 quarter units in principles of accounting courses from an accredited college.
OTHER REQUIRMENTS Applicants are required to demonstrate basic spreadsheet skills through the passing of a County approved test that will be administered by Human Resources following application review.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions.
