We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status.Position Summary:Performs responsible supply clerical tasks to include: maintaining and analyzing inventory and stock records, making recommendations for adjustments of stock levels, initiating requisitions for replenishment of supplies, checking merchandise received against purchase order descriptions, editing requisitions, and processing reports of goods received. Conducts periodic inventories of supplies. Processes and maintains records showing present location, transfer or disposal of property or goods. Schedules or coordinates the delivery of supplies or equipment.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years experience in purchasing and/or inventory control. Must demonstrate knowledge of automated inventory tracking systems.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:Some positions in this class may be required to maintain a current forklift certification.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a CathLab and/or Interventional Radiology environment.
- Familiarity with the unique inventory needs of specialized medical procedures in a high-demand and precision driven environments.
- Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certifications preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and medical supply chain best practices is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical RequirementsKnowledge of:Methods and practices of receiving, storing and issuing materials, tools, equipment and supplies; inventory control record keeping practices and procedures; units of weights and measures and standard terminology; suppliers of materials required by the department to which assigned; shipping requirements and methods; medical supplies and brand names; personal computers and associated software applications; use and maintenance of tools related to the work; business arithmetic; record keeping principles and practices; department and hospital safety principles and practices; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:Performing accurate receipt, storage and issuance of materials, supplies and equipment; maintaining accurate inventory control records; safely using and maintaining hand and power tools and material handling equipment related to the work; making accurate arithmetic calculations; understanding and following oral and written instructions; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in a typical stores or warehouse setting, including the operation of standard office equipment; stamina to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials including a VDT screen; and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Certain positions may require mobility to safely operate a motor vehicle and/or material handling equipment including a forklift. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
