Why you’ll love this position:The Missouri State Recycling Program (MSRP) is seeking a motivated and creative intern to join our team for the summer. This internship will focus on a key rebranding initiative involving updated signage and informational materials for recycling containers, as well as support for smaller sustainability projects. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in project management, design, and stakeholder communication while contributing to environmental sustainability efforts in state government.
This position will allow for hands-on experience in rebranding and sustainability initiatives. Along with o pportunities to develop project management, design, and communication skills. It also offers networking opportunities with professionals in state government and environmental sustainability.
- Assist in designing and developing updated signage for recycling containers that clearly communicate acceptable materials and recycling guidelines.
- Create and distribute informational materials such as flyers, posters, and digital guides to support the updated branding for the recycling program.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather feedback and refine materials to meet program goals.
- Coordinate the placement and distribution of updated signage across state government facilities.
- Support additional sustainability projects, including education campaigns and waste reduction initiatives.
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of updated materials in improving recycling participation.
- Perform research on best practices for recycling container signage and waste reduction strategies.
Required Education and Experience: - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of recycling and sustainability practices.
- Experience in graphic design, communications, or public outreach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
