    The Position

    Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.

    Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

    This recruitment is for an Administrative Services Officer 3 position, located in Carson City, Nevada within the Administrative Services Division (ASD). This position is responsible for managing the Accounting and Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) section of ASD which includes supervision of 16 staff. The ASD provides centralized fiscal services for 103 budget accounts across 33 client agencies. Duties include overall management, oversight, training, and direction of the accounting and CIP staff under administrative direction. Functions performed by the incumbent vary daily, including: processing financial transactions in Advantage and/or the Nevada Project Management System (NPAS); analysis of staff work performance; review of CIP work programs, fund maps, action item requests, and closing documents; analysis and preparation of CIP bond sales requests; liaising with client agency leadership, the Governor's Finance Office, and the Legislative Counsel Bureau; and preparing or presenting at the Legislature, the Interim Finance Committee, and the Board of Examiners.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and five years of professional experience including two years of responsibility for two or more major business operations such as grants administration, contract and lease administration, purchasing and warehouse operations, human resources, Information Technology, or facilities maintenance and construction; and three years of experience formulating, developing and analyzing agency budgets; and fiscal management, one year of which was equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
