    Key Responsibilities:
    • Support Transfer Students: Assist students from community colleges and universities in navigating the transfer process to SDSU, providing guidance on meeting admissions requirements and preparing for a successful transfer.
    • Course Evaluation: Assess students’ completed coursework to ensure it meets SDSU’s admission, general education, and lower-division major preparation requirements.
    • Clear Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with students, explaining recommendations, admissions decisions, and any necessary actions to help them move forward confidently.
    • Process Planning and Organization: Collaborate in the planning and organization of all processes related to transfer admissions, ensuring a smooth experience for students and the admissions team.

    Position Information
    • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
    • This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
    • Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
    • This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.

    Department Summary

    Enrollment Services consists of the Office of Admissions which communicates with prospective and new applicants to SDSU; the Office of the Registrar which serves current students, faculty, alumni, and community members; Class Schedule which allows students to search for courses; and Enrollment Services Communications which coordinates print and digital publications for Enrollment Services offices.

    Education and Experience

    Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

    Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

    Key Qualifications
    • Two or more years of experience interpreting and explaining policies in an academic or educational setting.
    • Demonstrates experience reviewing college transcript information.
    • Experience advising a diverse group of students across various educational backgrounds and institutions.
    • Knowledge of a variety of academic disciplines’ course requirements and career paths.
    • Knowledge of course structures, transfer policies, and certification processes in educational institutions.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
    • Experience using a student information system is preferred.
    • Experience in database tracking and management is preferred.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,841 per month.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,841 - $6,884 per month.
