GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Responsible for the general administration of the Inspection Division of the Engineering Department. Performs field and technical construction inspection work for environmental, water, sewer, street, and other public works projects and programs. Assures compliance with Federal, State and local codes and standards and contractual provisions. Along with providing direction, supervision, and evaluation of inspection staff, employees of this class are expected to perform highly skilled technical duties associated with inspections, and guiding staff through the inspections of capital improvements projects or private development.
