Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Bookstein Institute for Higher Education in Taxation at California State University, Northridge is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter individual, who possesses excellent communication skills, to assist in offering free tax representation to low-income members of the community facing a dispute with the federal or state tax agency. This position is made available through a grant from the U.S. Treasury Department and is subject to its continued funding.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, a master's degree in taxation or a related field, and either the CPA credential or the Enrolled Agent credential At least four years of work experience in the field of taxation, including extensive experience representing taxpayers facing an audit or other disputes with the IRS or the Franchise Tax Board.

Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:

Experience representing low-income taxpayers, Seniors, disabled and immigrants

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am- 5 pm

Full Pay range: $27-$30

The anticipated hiring range: $27-$30

Time Base: Full-Time
