THE OPPORTUNITY The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for all unplanned, planned, and reoccurring maintenance activities for designated County owned/operated facilities; business and employee activities related to the identification, planning, and execution of work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS ) and tracking related maintenance costs for the County buildings and facilities. This position also oversees purchasing transactions to ensure compliance with County policy and agency regulations; staffing, budgeting, and performance measures for the maintenance operation; and the establishment of major work programs such as maintenance engineering, regulatory compliance, planned maintenance, emergency repairs, and capital improvement projects. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Oversee the maintenance and repair of County-owned buildings, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and structural components. THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Legislative Affairs Director, the Legislative Affairs Manager plays a highly visible leadership role in the ongoing strategic alignment with the County Budget Office, the Deputy CEO and CEO-LA. This position co-manages the day-to-day responsibilities of the County’s legislative affairs program, with specific legislative and fiscal analysis for County Budget Programs III (Infrastructure & Environmental Services) and IV (General Government Services). The Legislative Affairs Manager maintains consistent communication with each of the county departments in Programs III and IV in a client-servicing role. The primary duties include, but are not limited to: Researching and preparing bill analyses and recommended legislative actions for the Board of Supervisors via the Legislative Bulletin, a regular item on all Board of Supervisors meeting agendas. Tracking legislative bill activity of interest to the County and preparing a weekly status report to the Board and County Executive Office. Assessing operational and fiscal impacts to County departments of proposed legislation or regulations. Developing proposed bill language with County Counsel for sponsored legislation. Drafting and developing the County’s bi-annual Legislative Platform document. Coordinating the ongoing training and development of County department legislative coordinators. Identifying and coordinating strategies for opportunities for the County to secure grant funding and/or pilot programs for key County priorities and initiatives. Coordinating with CEO Budget and county departments to develop and enact proposals for County-sponsored budget requests and grant funding opportunities at the federal and/or state levels. THE OPPORTUNITY The Treasurer-Tax Collector is seeking an experienced and innovative Technology Services Manager to oversee our information technology systems and processes. The Technology Services Manager, will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our information technology systems by introducing necessary upgrades and modifications, assisting with the implementation of automation and new technology, and providing guidance and support to our five divisions: Treasury, Investments, Tax & Central Collections, Administrative Services, and Executive. THE OPPORTUNITY The Archaeology Curator is responsible for the day-to-day collection management activities associated with Orange County's archaeological collections. The archaeology collection includes artifacts and cultural materials dating from at least 7800 years ago up to the historic period 50 years ago. It includes metates, manos, mortars, pestles, shell beads, fish hooks, hammer stones, projectile points, scrapers, incised stone and pottery shards, as well as zooarchaeological specimens such as shell midden. THE OPPORTUNITY Under general direction of the Operations Manager, the Field Services Manager plans, coordinates, and supervises field and animal control activities; supervises the work of animal control staff engaged in the operation of a comprehensive animal control program which includes, but is not limited to, the interpretation and enforcement of state and local laws and ordinances related to the impound and rescue of domestic animals, rabies control, animal cruelty, and neglect, humane euthanasia of animals, and spay and neuter; provides information to the public regarding animal control operations and procedures, and completes related work as required. This assignment manages, plans, supervises, and coordinates the daily operations of the field department, which includes the work of office and field staff, including the impounding of animals, assessment of physical and behavioral conditions of stray and impounded animals; performs enforcement tasks such as issuing of notices to appear in court, warrant service, and related duties; establishes protocols for the assessment of emergency medical attention of animals. This position is also responsible for protocols for the proper care of animals during impoundment and transportation. In addition, this position ensures the safety of field and patrol staff; trains and acts as a technical resource to field and shelter staff; recommends, implements, and writes operational policies and procedures related to animal control field services, and establishes uniformity in the application of rules, regulations, and policies established by the Operations Manager; works with other agencies and County departments regarding Animal Control matters. Work Schedule: OC Animal Care provides service 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Incumbents should be prepared to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule. Incumbents may be expected to remain “on-call” or be drafted for mandatory overtime in the event of an emergency, disaster, or during periods of unexpected staffing shortages. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES The ideal candidate will be an experienced manager within the animal welfare industry with a strong background in operational management and demonstrated skills in effective leadership and supervision. Such a candidate should be experienced with facilitating meetings to identify and resolve problems across teams and managing solutions in the presence of competing priorities. This experience specifically within a city, county, or a municipal system is highly desirable but not required. Operational management experience in all the following areas is highly desirable: Personnel management Finance/budgeting Records management Safety and emergency preparedness Operational management experience in Recruitment is desirable but not required.
