    ABOUT US

    The award-winning Marin County Fair is the County’s premier community event with over 120,000 attendees annually. Held annually over the 4th of July holiday, fairgoers enjoy five days of art, rides, concerts, fair food delights, shopping and so much more.

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The Department of Cultural Services is looking for staff to work the upcoming Marin County Fair-July 2-6th, 2025. There are multiple contingent hire opportunities (temporary) :

    The primary need is for staff to work the upcoming Fair July 2nd through July 6th 2025.

    Pre-event training is expected to take place on June 26th.
    Ticket Ambassador Lead:
    Manages Admission gates team and guest support. Supervisory experience and ability to manage guest entry experience required and will work at the three public entrances to the Fair, will oversee the Event Attendant Staff, and help trouble shoot ticketing issues. Ideally technically savvy and have excellent customer service skills in order to effectively communicate with Marin Center Staff, facility users, ticket outlets and the general public by providing assistance and/or information.

    ABOUT YOU

    KNOWLEDGE OF
    • Accounting procedures and office practices related to a computerized theater box office.
    • Processing and recording of financial records and transactions.
    • Mathematics, including decimals, percentages, and elementary statistical methods and techniques.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
    ABILITY TO
    • Handle large sums of money utilizing prescribed cash management controls.
    • Operate a variety of modern office equipment, including computer terminals.
    • Prepare simple financial compilation reports and statements.
    • Maintain accurate financial, facility, event and operational files and records.
    • Understand accounting records, reconcile statements and find and reconcile errors.
    • Read and interpret data processing input and output documents.
    • Make computations and tabulations efficiently and accurately.
    • Read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions.
    • Establish priorities and organize work.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the performance of duties.
    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and work in a standard office environment.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Two years experience handling large sums of money in a box office environment for a convention or performing arts center, auditorium, theater, arena or stadium, which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge and abilities. Event ticket selling experience on a computerized ticket system is highly desirable.
