    Job Description

    Overview

    We are looking for a Social Caseworker Manager to supervise, train, coach, support, and oversee both Intake and Ongoing Child Protection Caseworkers. This position will help assure that workers are able to assess the safety, permanency, and well-being needs of children and their families and create safety and support plans and case plans that will address identified needs.

    At the Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive and provide timely resources in partnership with our community so that individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic, and inclusive staff member to join our Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Division as a Social Caseworker Training Manager.

    This hybrid position requires at least two office days/week. Based on training schedules and other required meetings, additional office days may be required in any given week. You must have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Creating and delivering 101 and 201 level trainings on Children, Youth, and Families practices.
    • Overseeing the coaching program, including implementation, outcomes, and performance.
    • Using data to monitor outcomes and enhance practice and services.
    • Supervising, teaching, and coaching intake and ongoing CWs on child safety, permanency, and well-being.
    • Collaborating with internal and external experts to provide CYF staff training.
    • Providing feedback, promoting critical thinking, and conducting performance reviews.
    • Leading and participating in RED team and group supervision meetings.
    • Staying updated on new rules, policies, and training requirements for effective caseworker training.

    What we're looking for:
    • In-depth knowledge of caseworker and service team roles.
    • Familiarity with CYF practices like Safety Organized Practice, Trauma-Informed Care, and Bridges Out of Poverty.
    • Strong understanding of County, State regulations, and Social Services policies.
    • Adaptability to major changes in work responsibilities and environments.
    • Strong leadership skills with a proactive, self-starting attitude.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with experience delivering engaging training.
    • Experience with Volume 7, Tableau, ROM, and reporting systems.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Ability to provide timely feedback and staff development.
    • Knowledge of CWTS training system and Learning Management System.
    • Collaborative mindset with internal partners to ensure smooth transitions.
    • Willingness to learn and apply various supervision techniques (e.g., reflective, group, technical supervision, motivational interviewing).


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree from a higher education institution with coursework related to the job responsibilities of child welfare social casework supervisor. Coursework examples can include and are not limited to, the development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques.
    • Three (3) years of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human services-related agency. A Master's degree or higher in a social work or human behavioral sciences field can substitute for one (1) year of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human services-related agency.
    • Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire.
